Two people police believe were not wearing seatbelts at the time suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle rollover early Sunday morning.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene on Highway 97 just south of Austin Road where they found a 24-year-old woman pinned under the car, a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, and a 30-year-old man thrown from the vehicle.

Both were transported to hospital with serious injuries and the man, whose injuries were life-threatening, was later transported to Vancouver for further treatment.

Speed and alcohol are suspected factors and police are looking to speak to a third occupant, a male, who walked away from the collision with unknown injuries.

"It is believed that he was wearing his seatbelt," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said.
