The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identities of the two women who died in a single-vehicle rollover near Dunster on Monday.
They were Ann Margaret Kiyooka, 78, and Gloria Rose Fortowsky, 76, both of Valemount, the BCCS said Wednesday.
Both were sitting in the back seat of a car heading eastbound on Highway 16 when, shortly after 2 p.m., it drifted off the road and down an embankment about 20 kilometres east of Dunster and near the Terracana resort.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men in the car, ages 78 and 82, were transported to McBride hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
