The Canada Winter Games bid by Prince George was helped, personally, by three other mayors. They were thanked by mayor Dan Rogers in front of all their northern peers during the Union of B.C. Municipalities convention this week in Whistler.
At a luncheon for the North Central Local Government Association, attended by several hundred delegates from all over the upper half of the province, including MPs and MLAs, the main topic of discussion was the successful bid to host the 2015 Games in the north. Part of that was Rogers calling on Quesnel mayor Mary Sjostrom, Fort St. John mayor Bruce Lantz, and Terrace mayor David Pernarowski to accept trophies indicating the northern capital's enduring gratitude.
