Mayor Shari Green outspent former mayor Dan Rogers two-to-one during the 2011 municipal
election.
Rogers, who was the incumbent mayor going into the election, spent just under $38,430 on his election campaign. Green spent a record $81,147 on her successful bid for mayor. All candidates from the 2011 municipal election have now publicly filed their campaign donations and contributions. The deadline for candidates to report their donations was Monday at
5 p.m.
The final two candidates to file their reports were Rogers and mayoralty candidate Bruce Fader.
Rogers financed just over $12,711 of his campaign out of his own pocket. His largest campaign donations came from MNB Enterprises, North District Labour Council and Northern Interior
Aggregates at $2,500 each.
M Rogers Mechanical and Brian Brownridge each contributed $2,000 to Rogers' campaign.
Fader declared no campaign contributions or expenses.
The 2011 municipal election saw a total of $278,295 spent on campaigning in the city; $126,580 by mayoralty candidates and $151,715 by council candidates.
