Rock slide hits Highway 16 West, washout strikes Highway 97 North

A rock slide has closed Highway 16 in both directions 20 kilometres east of Terrace, according to Drive B.C.

A washout was also reported on Highway 97, 28 kilometres south of Chetwynd reducing the road to siingle lane alternating traffic with up to 20 minutes delay.

Drive B.C. is also warning of slippery sections in several spots along the Highway 16 beginning with the stretch between Prince George and Bednesti.

The warning was also issued Friday morning for Fort Fraser to Topley and for Highway 35 from Francois Lake to Burns Lake,

And a warning of snow with slippery sections was issued for Houston to Burns Lake and forMoricetown, 36 kilometers west of Smithers to Wakefield Road, 30 kilometers west of Houston.
