Thanks to a helpful public, Prince George RCMP have arrested the suspect behind a series of robberies.
On Aug. 16, police released photos of the behind a number of robberies in Prince George over the last few months and one possibly last summer.
Due to information received from the public, the RCMP identified the suspect and established enough evidence to arrest Gerald Gilbertson and recommend a charge against the 40-year-old Prince George resident.
A charge of robbery has been recommended against Gilbertson for allegedly committing the following offence:
On Aug. 14 at 3 a.m., police received a report of a robbery from a retail store on the 1700 block of Queensway. Police attended and believe that an adult Caucasian male entered the business and produced an edged weapon while demanding money. The suspect fled the business with a quantity of cash.
Police continue to investigate other robberies that have been committed in the Prince George area, including those where the surveillance images of the suspect look similar.
Gilbertson is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Aug. 19.
