Road work starts Monday

Road construction on Highway 16 three kilometres east of McBride starts Monday and will continue through June 19, according to the Ministry of Transportation. The highway will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Road construction on Highway 16 three kilometres east of McBride starts Monday and will continue through June 19, according to the Ministry of Transportation.

The highway will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily with up to 20 minutes delay.

Also, work on the West Twin bridge, 30 km west of McBride, continues through to June 13, with the highway also reduced to single lane alternating in that area.

Drivers are asked use caution and watch for construction crews and flaggers on the highway.

And construction work on Highway 97, 13 km south of Quesnel, from Dragon Lake Road to Quartz Road, starts Monday and is scheduled to last for four days.

Work also continues on the four-laning project eight kilometres south of Quesnel.

Expect minor delays to allow for truck traffic to cross the highway.
