A man was rescued from the fast, frigid waters of the Fraser River on Wednesday morning. How the man got into the river is not yet known, but first responders were alerted at about 11:05 a.m. to the man flailing and yelling for help in the current.

He made it from the west shore to the east but was stranded on a rocky beach at the bottom of a steep bank below railway tracks.

Fire, police, ambulance and CN personnel combined efforts to bring the man up to the railway access road and away to hospital.
