That winter storm warning continues for Prince George this morning (Oct. 26).

As proven by the overnight snowfall, the city could see a total of 25 cm when it's all over before freezing rain kicks in later today.

According to Environment Canada, Monday's forecast says the heavy snow will end by the afternoon and will be followed by cloudy skies at night.

Winds could also gust up to 50 km/h, shifting the frontal system east towards the Alberta border before the evening.

Temperatures will drop to -10 C in the morning with the chill, but will rise up to 5 C in the afternoon.

A winter storm warning is in place as well for Highway 97 north at the Pine Pass and south towards the Cariboo-Chilcotin regions, as well as Stuart-Nechako, Bulkley Valley and Lakes District, and the Peace River.
