Rise and shine, Prince George!

A high of 19 C and smokey skies

Today there will be a mix of sun and cloud with fog patches dissipating this morning. There's also going to be local smoke this afternoon. Today's high is 19 C.

Prince George is also under a smoky skies bulletin. Environment Canada says smoke impacts due to long-range transport from wildfires in the western United States have already been observed in some areas of Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and portions of the Interior. Smoke forecast models indicate the potential for a significant push of smoke into B.C. throughout the weekend.

The anticipated smoke trajectory indicates that the areas impacted will grow to the north and east as the weekend progresses with the most widespread impacts expected on Sunday. Areas at higher latitudes, such as Prince George, may have smoke passing through the region aloft.

Tonight will be cloudy with 40 per cent chance of showers before morning and  local smoke with wind becoming north 20 km/h this evening. Tonight's low is 6C.
