There's a special weather statement in effect for today.

Today will be mainly cloudy with snow or ice pellets beginning late in the afternoon with a risk of freezing rain. Wind will blow up to 15 km/h with a high of -1 C and a wind chill of -17 in the morning and -5 C in the afternoon.

Tonight we'll get snow or ice pellets mixed with freezing rain. Snow and ice pellet should amount to 5 cm and we'll get wind up to 15 km/h with temperature steady near -1 C and wind chill near -6 C.

Environment Canada says an arctic front pushed through the central interior Saturday night bringing cold air to the region.

A Pacific warm front will bring warm moist air that will ride over the cold arctic air today. Freezing rain or ice pellets are expected to develop over the Bulkley Valley and the Lakes, Prince George and Cariboo regions this afternoon and last through this evening.

Freezing rain and ice pellets will likely spread to other regions of the central interior tonight.

Things are forecast to change to rain or showers tomorrow over the central interior and to snow or flurries over the northern interior.
