The sun is out, but the cold air will rule the day once more to begin another weekend in Prince George.

Environment Canada is forecasting a windchill of -42 C this morning, thanks to gusty winds up to 50 km/h blowing in with the Arctic airmass.

An extreme cold warning has been in effect for the city since Friday at 5 a.m., along with other neighbouring regions like the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District, and the Peace River.

Frostbite is expected to occur within minutes if local residents aren't properly bundled.

The daily high will reach -15 C, while the overnight low will dip to -32 C.
