The Wheelin' Warriors of the North are hosting a fundraiser at the Treasure Cove Casino on April 20.
Team captain Karin Piche has 34 riders lined up to participate in the annual Ride to Conquer Cancer with proceeds going to the B.C. Cancer Foundation. The ride takes place on June 15-16 from Vancouver to Seattle.
Launched last year, the Wheeling Warriors have already raised close to $25,000 and Piche said in a letter to city council this week that they have the potential to raise upwards of $85,000.
The Free Wheelin' semi-formal dinner and dance begins at 6 p.m. on April 20. Tickets cost $35 and are available from Piche at [email protected].
