The Two Rivers Crime Prevention Society is $12,000 richer thanks to a donation Tuesday from proceeds raised when the RCMP Musical Ride was held in Prince George this summer.

On what the money will be spent is still to be determined, but it will be on crime prevention initiatives delivered through the Prince George RCMP's community policing section.

"We will be having a meeting before the end of the month and discuss where the funds will be going to," society director Jacques Fournier said.

Past projects have included the Lock It or Lose It campaign to show drivers how to keep their vehicles from becoming targets for break and enters. The society is also a big supporter of Citizens on Patrol, Speedwatch and other programs that involve volunteers.

The $12,000 is a significant boost to the society's budget for the year, all raised by donation.

"It's a good shot in the arm," Fournier said.

Over 5,000 people attended the two performances on July 13 and 14.
