Resort still waiting for help

The owners of Rockin's River Resort continued to wait late Friday morning for word on whether the provincial government will come to the rescue and pay for mitigation work to prevent further erosion of the property by a fast-flowing Salmon River.

The owners of Rockin's River Resort continued to wait late Friday morning for word on whether the provincial government will come to the rescue and pay for mitigation work to prevent further erosion of the property by a fast-flowing Salmon River.

"They're humming and hawwing," said frustrated co-owner Robin Stoy. "I mean, I reported this on Tuesday and everybody was out here and it's Friday and nobody's out here yet."

The house on the resort is in growing jeopardy.

"We're just about to lose a great big chunk behind the house," said Stoy. "It's at about 48 feet [from the river] this morning."
