Fort St. John city council has unanimously agreed to censure Bruce Lantz, the city's mayor, for alleged "unacceptable" conduct, the CBC reported Thursday.

The resolution, voted on during the council's Feb. 28 meeting, would prohibit Lantz from meeting alone or traveling alone with any female city employee. It would also prevent the mayor from traveling outside the region on city-related functions, unless approved by council. A councillor would also have to attend the event with the mayor.

The resolution also calls for Lantz's positions with the Northwest Corridor Development Corporation and Enbridge to be rescinded.

The motion is on the agenda for the next council meeting on March 14 and the sanctions would go into effect the following day.

The resolution contained no details of the alleged unacceptable conduct. Lantz did not respond to the CBC's request for comment and did not attend the Feb. 28 meeting.
