Another group of Hart Highlands residents has voted in favour of a new tax to bring city sewer lines to their neighbourhood.
The majority of Ridgeview Drive property owners (17 out of 20), gave their assent for the city to start on an estimated $560,000 project to install sanitary sewer on their street, allowing them to do away with their individual septic systems.
The cost of the work will be divided among the properties and added to their annual tax bills, to be repaid over a 20-year period. Residents will also have to pay the additional cost of hooking their individual properties to the city line.
Ridgeview residents recently asked to have work done separately from the remainder of those living in the Killarney Drive/Sussex Lane/ Wildwood Crescent area to capitalize on this year's construction season.
