Prince George's Relay for Life is the only 24-hour relay in Canada and for the second year in a row was tops last year for raising more than $530,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The newly-themed event called Relay 500: Racing for a Cure has its registration deadline on Friday and organizers are hoping those last-minute residents Prince George is famous for will visit www.relayforlife.ca/princegeorge and register to participate in the May 7 to 8 event held at Masich Place Stadium.
A strong incentive to join the race for the cure is presented by Northland Auto Group that is offering a chance to win one of three vehicles for those who raise more than $500 towards the cause that sees a registered participant get a ticket into the draw barrel. Each additional $500 raised means an extra ticket in the draw.
Up for grabs is a 2016 Dodge Dart SE, a 2015 Micra S automatic, or a 2015 Hyundai Accent Sedan and the winner of the May 8 draw gets to pick their new ride.
