Operation Red Nose provided 230 safe rides home last Friday and Saturday.
This was the fourth weekend of the holiday season where a team of volunteers brought local residents and their vehicles home safely between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.
This past Friday, 71 volunteers offered 82 rides while traveling 2,373 km.
On Saturday, 87 volunteers offered 148 rides while traveling 3,673 km.
"Overall, we are very happy with how the weekend went," said Andrea Johnson, Operation Red Nose spokesperson. "Anyone who wanted a safe ride home, received one since we had enough teams to keep up with the demand."
Operation Red Nose is a by-donation, designated-driving service available during the holiday season organized by the Rotary Club of Prince George Nechako in partnership with the RCMP and ICBC.
So far this season Operation Red Nose has provided 793 rides during eight nights of service.
Operation Red Nose will once again be available Dec. 31, New Year's Eve, the busiest night of the year, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Call 250-962-RIDE (7433) to catch a ride.
