Flooding over the last few weeks has created devastation for about 20 million people across Pakistan and with monsoon season lasting for at least another month, the flood damage will increase as will the need for assistance.
The Canadian Red Cross, in partnership with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and the International Red Cross, will work to provide food, clean drinking water, medical aid, tents and other shelter, and non-food items to those in need.
The local Red Cross is asking people in the region to donate in order to support aid to Pakistan.
To donate to the local office call 1-800-278-7177, or go online at www.redcross.ca or call 1-800-418-1111 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
