Real estate sales up in area

The BC Northern Real Estate Board reports to the end of September, 947 properties worth $214.2 million changed hands in the City of Prince George, compared with 926 properties worth $200 million to Sept. 30, 201o.

The BC Northern Real Estate Board reports to the end of September, 947 properties worth $214.2 million changed hands in the City of Prince George, compared with 926 properties worth $200 million to Sept. 30, 201o. In the western part of the city the median price of the 217 homes sold this year, was $219,900. In the area east of the by-pass, the 104 single family homes that sold had a median price of $178,000. In the northern part of the city, in the area commonly referred to as the Hart, the 126 single family homes sold had a median price of $252,000. In the southwest section of the city, the median price of the 193 single family homes sold was $284,000. At the end of September, there were 832 properties of all types available for purchase through MLS in the city of Prince George.

Quesnel: To the end of September 179 properties worth $32.8 million sold through MLS compared to 220 properties worth $37.3 million to the end of the third quarter of 2010. Half of the 74 single family homes sold so far this year, sold for less than $178,000 and took, on average, 93 days to sell. Also changing hands this year were 23 parcels of vacant land, 37 homes on acreage, 13 manufactured homes in parks and 14 manufactured homes on land. At the end of September there were 356 properties of all types available for purchase through the MLS in the Quesnel area.

Vanderhoof: REALTORS assisted in the sale of 76 properties worth $15.1 million in the first nine months of the year compared with 102 properties worth $14.8 million in the same time last year. At the end of September there were 153 properties of all types available through MLS in the Vanderhoof area.

Fort St. James: 39 properties worth $6.2 million were reported sold to the end of September, compared to 31 properties worth $3.8 million in the same period last year. As of Sept. 30 there were 73 properties of all types available for purchase through MLS in the Fort St. James area.

Fraser Fort George

Mackenzie: In the first nine months of 2011 78 properties worth $8.2 million were reported sold through MLS in the Mackenzie area, compared with 108 properties worth $10.6 million to Sept. 30, 2010. At the end of September there were 93 properties of all types available for purchase through MLS in the Mackenzie area.
