Real estate picked up in January

Single-family homes sold for an average $215,023 in northern B.C. in January, according to the B.C. Real Estate Association, up $10,227 over the month before. It's also up $14,653 from January 2009.

It's also up $14,653 from January 2009.

Sales volume was 181 units, down from 233 in December but up from 128 the year before.

Dollar volume last month was $50.9 million, up from $47.7 million and way up from $25.6 million the year before.

The figures are for all of northern B.C. except the Dawson Creek-Chetwynd area.
