Best bang for your buck, bike shop, butcher, bank or barbershop and pretty much anything else that could be a favourite is on the list in the annual Readers' Choice Awards.
Voting goes until July 23 and can be done online through www.princegeorgecitizen.com. Just click on Readers' Choice Awards and fill in the blanks. It's that easy.
If you're old-school, just take some time to fill out the form that's in every issue of The Citizen until July 23.
"The Readers' Choice Awards give us a hyper local opportunity to hear consumers say who they feel provides the best in customer service, product, selection and that's what's important to us," said Kevin Dergez, director of advertising at the Prince George Citizen.
Over the years, the Readers' Choice Awards has evolved with new categories being added continually because of reader input, Dergez added.
"It's a reflection of the community and it's only through them that we find out that we should add a tattoo parlor or an internet service provider," said Dergez.
During the Readers' Choice Awards, Dergez is asking participants to try to fill out as many of the categories as possible - at least 75 per cent of the questionnaire - to offer good insight into who is the best at what they do.
"We want to get as comprehensive a list of businesses in the community as possible," said Dergez. "And we are giving away some great prizes this year."
Each person who fills out the Readers' Choice is eligible to win.
The Citizen will publish the top three winners in each category in a special pullout section of the newspaper near the end of August as a guide for residents and tourists to see where the locals go to eat, play, hike, do yoga, recreate and get their hair done, just to name a few.
Readers who wish to make an additional impact when it comes to consumer-driven input, the Prince George Citizen Reader Survey 2016 is also ready and waiting online for the first time.
"This is a very comprehensive purchase study," said Dergez.
"The reason that we're doing it is two-fold: to provide better information for our readers on products and services they are looking for and then also for businesses that we work with to provide them with detailed information from the community on what products and services they may be looking for. So at the end of the day we're making sure that our advertising is relevant to the needs of the consumers that are using the products."
The link can be found on The Citizen's website at www.princegeorgecitizen.com and Dergez warns the process can take a bit of time.
"So get a big cup of coffee ready before you sit down to do the survey," said Dergez. "It's going to take some time to get through it but we know it's important and it will help us give readers the products and services they're looking for."
