Readers not impressed with Vancouver oil spill response, poll shows

In the Citizen's last poll it looks like the cleanup of English Bay was too slow for a majority of our online readers.

We asked: Do you feel the response to last week's oil spill in Vancouver's English Bay was appropriate?

No, it was too slow and there was poor communication with the public and other levels of government. That answer took 46 per cent of the vote, for a total of 185 votes.

No, the federal government isn't properly funding the Coast Guard and it showed, took 30 per cent, for a total of 120 votes.

Yes, it was only a few thousand litres and all but a tiny amount was cleaned up quickly, took 14 per cent with a total of 58 votes and yes, the Coast Guard followed its regular protocol and did a great job, took a meager 10 per cent with a total of 41 votes.

There was a total of 404 votes. Remember this is not a scientific poll. It's just for fun.
