A special event license was granted to organizers of the inaugural Northern Regional Pond Hockey Challenge by Fraser-Fort George Regional District directors on Thursday.
The event is scheduled for January 14-16 at West Lake, and expected to draw as many as 900 people daily.
The event will see men and women recreational teams compete on 8 different rinks. The event is connected to a similar competition held in Rossland.
