The Prince George RCMP are holding their annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to support Special Olympics British Columbia tomorrow.

The 3.5-kilometre walk or run event is primarily made up of members, staff and family of various public safety agencies including the B.C. Sheriffs Service, Prince George Fire Rescue and the Prince George Detachment of the RCMP.

"We are very happy to help raise money to support these local athletes" said Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"Their dedication and effort into their respective sports is inspiring. The generosity of this community is equally inspiring, so we are confident that this will be a successful event."

A one-block portion of Fifth Avenue between Victoria Street and Vancouver Street will be closed to vehicle traffic, 3-6 p.m. The run itself starts at 4 p.m. and wraps up about a half-hour later with a BBQ and 50-50 raffle to follow.

All are welcome to attend.

Donations can be to Special Olympics B.C. online at www.specialolympics.bc.ca/letr.
