An RCMP member in Prince George lost control of his police vehicle in the early morning hours Tuesday, damaging a chain link fence and striking a hydro pole near First Avenue and Ottawa Street.
Cpl. Craig Douglass, media liaison officer, said the member was conducting routine patrols when the incident occurred about 3:15 a.m.
The officer was taken to the hospital and released with no apparent injuries.
The fully-marked police vehicle was extensively damaged and was towed to a secure compound where it was to undergo a mechanical inspection Tuesday afternoon.
The RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and has begun an investigation.
