RCMP kept busy over Christmas and New Year

Prince George RCMP responded to over 1,200 calls during the two-week holiday season. Of those calls, 22 were for break and enters, 14 were for thefts from vehicles and three were for stolen vehicles.

Here's a look at a handful of those responses:

• An investigation is continuing the investigation an alleged assault reported outside a Queenway Street apartment building on Dec. 23.

RCMP are on the lookout for a caucasian male with a bald head and an aboriginal female with dyed-blue hair in connections, after a man was found with injuries believed to have been suffered in an attack.

• RCMP are also continuing to investigate an assault near the corner of 15th Avenue and Victoria St. on Saturday that left a 50-year-old man severely beaten.

• Victor Jonathan Alec, 34, faces four charges in relation to a report of an attempted home invasion in the 1400 block of Fourth Ave. on Dec. 24.

Alec allegedly tried to force his way into the home while intoxicated and wielding a knife.

• Elmer Jacob Morrison, 57, faces two charges after a woman suffered an apparent broken arm during a domestic dispute on McCullagh Avenune on Dec. 24.

Morrison was allegedly hiding in a closet when police arrived.

• Bradley Dean Brignall, 41, faces three charges after allegedly attacking his father-in-law with a hammer at an 8600-block Highway 97 North home on Dec. 26.

Brignall is also alleged to have assaulted his spouse the night before.

• Louie Andrew Laurent, 19, faces five charges after allegedly bear spraying a 45-year-old relative at a 2400-block Oak Street home on Dec. 30.

• Benjamin Fredrick Moses, 41, and Geoffrey Troy Bjarnason, 44, have both been charged with break and enter with intent to commit an offence, after they were allegedly found inside a fenced compound on Ogilvie Street on Jan. 1.
