North District RCMP's major crime section has been called in to investigate after police came across a deceased female in the back seat of a vehicle.
A Vanderhoof RCMP member made the discovery on Sunday night after pulling the vehicle over on Highway 16 near Landaluza Rd west of Vanderhoof.
The two other people were arrested and later released while charges remain pending. Names of those involved were not provided.
"It is believed that all involved are known to each other," North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said. "There is nothing to suggest that the greater public is at further risk."
