Prince George RCMP were investigating a suspicious event that occurred Wednesday at College Heights Secondary School where at about noon two witnesses reported to police they saw a teenaged girl get dropped off at the school by a black pickup. They did not recognize the youth as a student of the school.
A short time later, a silver sedan with a man and woman inside came and stopped near the girl.
The witnesses stated the girl began to walk away before she was approached by the man and guided into the waiting vehicle.
The two in the sedan claimed to be her parents.
“We can confirm the youth went with her parents and is safe at home with them now," Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP, said. "We want to commend the witnesses who spoke to police about what they saw yesterday; thankfully in this scenario everyone was safe, but it is always important to follow your instincts and speak up if you see something unusual or that makes you uncomfortable,”
Police officers are still looking for any information on the owner of the black pick up truck, which is described as a newer model black Dodge Ram. You can speak with an investigator by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 if you have information relating to this investigation.
