The Hudson’s Hope RCMP have begun their ‘12 Days of Christmas Giving’ toy drive, an event started by the detachment over four years ago.
Detachment Commander Cpl. Erich Schmidt says the concept for the drive was sparked by his daughter wanting to give away some of her toys to kids in the town who might not be able to receive Christmas presents due to hardships.
“My wife came up with the idea of creating a toy drive for our town and in conjunction with the Hudson’s Hope RCMP and in partnership with The Friend’s of Hudson’s Hope, the Hudson’s Hope Elementary – Secondary School, District of Hudson’s Hope, and local businesses, we have been able to make this happen for many families in our little town,” Schmidt further explained
The drive has also expanded to create the Senior Santa event, where donations are collected for Christmas baskets which are hand delivered by RCMP to the local seniors home.
Gifts of all kinds and for all ages are needed, and monetary donations can be made out to The Friends of Hudson’s Hope, a local non-profit, and dropped off at the Hudson’s Hope Thrift Store or the Hudson’s Hope RCMP detachment.
Bins to drop off gifts are also available at the following locations:
