Prince George city councillor Cori Ramsay was acclaimed as president of the North Central Local Government Association during the group's virtual AGM earlier this month.
The NCLGA represents more than 40 communities in northern and central British Columbia. Prince George is the largest member community in the organization.
“Building on the actions implemented by my predecessors, my focus as president will be to work with the board and members to advocate for solutions to issues and opportunities identified in the 2021 NCLGA resolutions. I look forward to collaboratively working towards positive outcomes on issues that matter to communities throughout north-central B.C.” Ramsay said in a press release. “The 2021 convention provided an opportunity for members to learn about and discuss several important topics including COVID-19 recovery, improved access to health services in NCLGA communities, affordable housing and homelessness, and resilient resource industries.”
Prior to being acclaimed as president, Ramsay had served as the organizations first and second vice presidents.
Director Dannielle Alan represented the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George on the NCLGA board.
