More than 85 volunteers hawked the Prince George Citizen for donations Wednesday morning for the local Raise-a-Reader campaign that sees all funds go to local literacy projects. There was more than $5,000 raised in cash donations during the two-hour blitz. As sponsorships, donations and matching funds are collected, the Prince George Public Library will announce the final total raised later in the year. To apply for a Raise-a-Reader grant, check the library's web site in the near future where there will be an online application process.
