For the second day in a row, the flood of rain caused the city to close its baseball and soccer fields.
The weather has made public safety and turf damage two prime concerns, the city said in its Wednesday afternoon announcement that civic fields are shut down "effective immediately and until further notice."
On Thursday morning, the city said they would remain closed and would re-assess Friday.
Parks staff made the call after seeing the soaked turf and areas of standing water on over-saturated grounds.
