Queensway Court Motel's business license suspended

Council voted to uphold a six-month suspension at a special meeting

The Queensway Court Motel is the subject of a Special Council Meeting which will take place Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. (via Trip Adviser).

The Queensway Court Motel’s business license has been suspended.

The future of the Motel was up for debate at a special council meeting held Sept. 6.

Council unanimously voted to uphold the six-month suspension for the business license at Queensway Court Motel which will begin Oct. 1st.

Council sited a number of issues happening at the motel, including a high volume of 911 calls to the motel and residents using the motel as a home.

The Motel owner, Soo Hyun Won, will have to reapply for the business license at the end of the six-month period.

Residents of the motel will be evicted and the city is working with BC housing to find them new housing.
