The shop fire on the 5000 block of Purdue Road East that took place in the early morning hours of Feb. 15 is now considered an arson investigation.
A large detached shop was fully involved when fire crews got to the scene.
The homeowner, who was alone at the time, told police they had extinguished a smaller fire that was started under the front deck of the home.
While fire crews took care of the shop blaze police conducted a parallel investigation.
There are currently no suspects.
“The Prince George RCMP would like to encourage anyone in the area with surveillance facing the road to look at their footage between 3:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on February 15th and to advise police if there is any unusual activity caught by their cameras. Often it is just a small detail that can help give an investigation some direction,” Cst. Jennifer Cooper, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP, said.
