The provincial government has launched a six-week public consultation how best to protect the province's species at risk.

Until Nov. 30, the public can leave feedback on the new species at risk engagement website: engage.gov.bc.ca/SpeciesAtRisk.

They can also comment on how better support activities such as monitoring, research and stewardship.

The public can also learn more about shared recovery efforts currently ongoing around B.C. for the northern spotted owl, northern leopard frog, western rattlesnake and whitebark pine, with new stories being posted every week throughout the engagement period.

Input received will be used to identify priorities for new policy and programs in the months and years ahead. It's in accordance with the province's five-year species at risk plan.
