A fundraiser and fun-raiser for the city's animals lovers happens today at the Westwood Pub.
Although the pub is the host, this is an outdoor, family event for all ages, and indoors for the 19-plus crowd. The benefactor is the Prince George SPCA.
"We will be hosting an outdoor barbecue in the parking lot, where we also have inflatable games for kids by L.A. Promotions & Tents," said a Westwood spokesperson. They are calling the event Puppy Pub Day.
"There will be a Hockey Shoot-Out hosted by the P.G. Cougars with a massive prize from Wood Wheaton Supercentre. Cougars mascot Rowdy Cat will be in attendance. There will be a silent auction, raffles, contests with excellent prizes and more."
The Westwood team is making two major commitments to the SPCA rooted in this family event.
No. 1 - all the money paid into the outdoor barbecue and the indoor pub food sales will be donated to the animal welfare organization. No. 2 - the working staff has promised to donate 100 per cent of their wages that day to the SPCA as well.
This event is also part of the city challenge between Prince George and Kamloops, attempting to raise the highest amount of money for their respective SPCA branches.
