Students and residents interested in business, business management, or other related careers will have a chance to network in Prince George next week.

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) is hosting an industry night on Monday (Feb. 11) by the Chartered Professionals of Human Resources of British Columbia and Yukon (CPHR, BC & Yukon) as a way to learn more about the field.

This is the first time the post-secondary school has put on this event of this caliber.

Local industry-certified professionals will be in attendance to answer questions, mingle with, and provide guidance for prospective employees.

Currently, CNC has a Human Resource Management Post-Diploma program, which is an accredited course with the CPHR, BC & Yukon branch.

According to the program synopsis, this means graduates are eligible to waive writing the National Knowledge Exam, moving them a step closer to receiving their CPHR designation.

The school is also encouraging students from UNBC’s human resource studies to attend the convention as well.

The meeting takes place at CNC’s Gathering Place on the Prince George campus, starting at 5:30 p.m.
