The B.C. government signed another mining revenue-sharing agreement with the McLeod Lake Indian Band on Wednesday, the second such arrangement in two days.
Under the agreement, the McLeod Lake Indian Band will share in provincial mineral tax revenue from Thompson Creek Metals' proposed $900-million Mount Milligan mine, located about 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George. The McLeod Lake Indian Band, 100 kilometres north of Prince George, is one of two First Nations that have claimed the mine area as their traditional territory.
