Prolific offender faces new charges

A prolific local offender has allegedly struck again, but a homeowner's lucky timing caught him in the act. Jason Alexander Goodwin, 41, has been charged with break-and-enter and with being unlawfully in a dwelling.

A prolific local offender has allegedly struck again, but a homeowner's lucky timing caught him in the act.

Jason Alexander Goodwin, 41, has been charged with break-and-enter and with being unlawfully in a dwelling.

A resident of Loyola Drive in the College Heights neighbourhood came home at lunchtime, Oct. 14, but before he got inside noticed damage to the door of

the house.

"Upon further inspection, the homeowner located a male inside his residence who was in the process of removing computer items and electronic goods," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"Police were called and the home owner gave pursuit of the male who fled on a bicycle. The male was arrested by police a short time later on

St. Mark Crescent."

Goodwin was the man arrested and now charged by Crown.

"Goodwin is well known to police and is currently listed on the Prolific Offender List at the Prince George detachment," said Douglass.

Goodwin has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for Oct. 26 at the Prince George Courthouse.
