A man was sentenced to probation this week after RCMP found him in possession of this stolen mountain bike in July.

A 27-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to one year probation after he was found in possession of a high-priced mountain bike that went missing from the front of a fast food restaurant in July.

Perry Robert Wells Hogan was also fined $200 plus a $60 victim surcharge on one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000. The sentence was issued in provincial court.

Hogan was arrested a few days after the bike was stolen. By that time, it was missing some parts and was in the process of having the paint and decals removed, RCMP said at the time.

It went missing after a local youth made the mistake of briefly leaving the bike, worth about $1,500, unlocked outside the restaurant.
