After nearly a year in custody, a man well-known to police is back on the streets.

Leif Birch Myltoft, 42, was sentenced Friday to 18 months probation for breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence and for mischief $5,000 or under.

Myltoft was arrested on July 2, 2018 when RCMP responded to a call from a 300-block Carney Street home and had been in custody for 360 days.

As of the date of his arrest, police had nearly 100 contacts with Myltoft in 2018.
