Crown counsel is seeking between 2 1/2 and three years in prison for a 30-year-old Mackenzie man who has pleaded guilty to sexually interfering with two young girls.
The man also pleaded guilty to a count of inviting a person under 16 years old to sexual touching in relation to a series of five incidents that began when the girls were between seven and nine years old and ended roughly five years later when he was arrested late last year.
One of the girls is a niece of the man.
Submissions on sentencing were heard Wednesday in Prince George provincial court. A decision on sentencing will be issued at a later date.
The man's name cannot be printed under a court-ordered publication ban on information that would identify the victims.
