The Prince George Community Foundation (PGCF) has reached a major milestone, distributing $10 million in grants to organizations, projects and individuals across the Prince George community.
To celebrate the achievement and thank the community that made it possible, the PGCF has announced a one-time Community Choice Grant.
This special grant invites members of the community to nominate their favourite local charitable organization.
“Our $10-million milestone is a significant achievement,” said PGCF executive director Rae-Ann Noonan. “One that could not have been accomplished without the support of a great number of people and organizations. This milestone is not just about dollars—it’s about impact. It represents years of community-building, partnerships and a shared belief in what we can achieve together.
“This grant is our way of celebrating the generosity of Prince George and empowering the community to recognize the organizations making a difference right now.”
The Community Choice Grant will award $10,000 to a charitable organization selected by the public.
The grant may be used in any way the winning organization sees fit to support its work. The only requirement is a follow-up report to the PGCF outlining how the funds were used.
All nominations from residents will be reviewed by a selection committee and evaluated based on community impact, the number and quality of nominations, and other factors.
The five shortlisted organizations will be announced Wednesday, May 28. They will be featured on the PGCF website and social media channels leading up to the final selection on June 5, 2025.
Nominations must be submitted online by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025. To nominate a local charitable organization for the Community Choice Grant, visit this website.
