Ice Cream Express says it is now open as the Prince George business was able to get inside.

Earlier today (June 17), it reported an act of vandalism and theft took place at its stand next to Strike Zone Bowling, which has since been reported to police, where the lever to open the service window was taken off.

Signs and umbrellas were also stolen.

Prince George's Ice Cream Express is facing a setback after recently opening up for the summer season.

The ice cream stand was vandalized today (June 17).

In a Facebook post, owners Ken and Leona Bergman announced someone has stolen their signage, umbrella stands, and destroyed the metal window covering.

"We are devastated," they write. "We are just a little stand trying to make ends meet. Working two jobs to keep our head above water only to be once again hit with vandalism."

Owners say police have been alerted about the incident. The stand will remain closed until further notice.

This is the Ice Cream Express 12th season open in Prince George.

The stand relocated to the Strike Zone Bowling Centre in 2019.
