Studio Fair, the annual fundraiser for the Prince George and District Community Arts Council/Studio 2880 (CAC), will be cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 health crisis.

The event has been running for 44 years bringing people from all walks of life to Prince George for a multi-day visual arts and artisan experience.

Last year, over 12,000 people attend the three-day event, and through their attendance, generously supported local and regional arts groups.

“Current regulations prohibit large public gatherings and events, and our organization wishes to highlight the importance of community groups and businesses prioritizing public health as being foundational to planning programs and events this year,” says CAC executive director Sean Farrell, in a news release.

“As an alternative to the live event, the CAC is currently exploring opportunities to create a Studio Fair online marketplace and will be assessing needs and viability, as well as opportunities for partnerships in this initiative, over the coming weeks.”

He says CAC is excited to look at returning in 2021 from Nov. 5 to 7, to celebrate the creativity in the community, region, province and country.
