A Prince George woman is celebrating a $500,000 windfall after winning a Maxmillions prize from the May 9 Lotto Max draw.
The first item on her wish list? A new lawn tractor.
Louise Kerr discovered her win while sitting at her kitchen table with a cup of tea. She said she used the BC Lottery Corporation’s Lotto! app to check her ticket.
“I just didn’t believe it,” she said. “I double-checked the numbers.”
Kerr split the Maxmillions prize with another ticket holder in Atlantic Canada.
She's looking forward to buying the tractor.
“I’ve already ordered it,” she said, adding she also plans to use her winnings for home repairs. “I can hire people to do it. This just frees you up.”
Kerr called the win “unreal” and said the prize has already begun to change her day-to-day life.
She bought the winning ticket at Hart Drug Mart on Dagg Road in Prince George.
