It's another somber unemployment rate for Prince George.

According to November's Labour Force numbers released today (Nov. 6) by Statistics Canada, the northern capital's unemployment rose yet again, crossing the six per cent plateau.

Prince George came in at 6.4 per cent exactly, up from 5.9 per cent in October.

British Columbia also rose from 4.7 per cent in October to five per cent for November, a recorded loss of 18,000 jobs with the decline coming across several different industries.

Canada's unemployment rate also saw a slight increase at 5.9 per cent, compared to last month's rate of 5.5 per cent.

The goods-producing and services-producing sectors saw large losses.

The goods-services category saw the manufacturing industry losing 28,000 positions and natural resources dropping 6,500 jobs with Quebec seeing the largest losses.

The services-producing sector mainly saw losses in public administration with a loss of 25,000 jobs.

The largest losses were recorded in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta.

Private sector employees also dropped by 50,000 jobs.
