An extreme cold warning continues in Prince George.

The high will reach -24 C with wind chill minus -40 C this morning and minus -29 C this afternoon. Tonight the temperature will steady near -24 C with wind chill minus -29 C this evening and -34 C overnight.

Conditions are expected to improve this afternoon as the winds ease and temperatures increase but Environment Canada warns that frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

This comes after snowfall and extreme cold warning issued Monday (Jan. 3) where the city received between 10 and 15 cm of snow, followed by extreme cold.

However, temperatures are expected to warm up this weekend with Environment Canada forecasting a high of -13 C on Saturday, -5 C on Sunday and only -2 C on Monday.
